This Thorn Lodge Public School painting is an installation piece at the school entrance.
The brick would have
been far too difficult to paint on.
The Earth was painted on two sheets on masonite to accommodate the height and then fit together. The ribbon with the school's name was painted on a separate piece and mounted over top to hide the seam and to add some dimensional interest.
The text was in my own hand writing as opposed to digital text. the principal wanted something more child-like.
The children arranged around the top of the Earth represent respect and acceptance whether the difference be cultural or childhood disability. Everyone is equal and welcome.

A peek into my messy artist workshop: a few pictures were taken to demonstrate the work in progress. Work horses, power tools, assorted paints... glamorous!
