This mural decorates a boy's room with a fantasy landscape painting and features Thomas the Train.
The painting was a colaboration with the homeowner in her son's room.
She painted the top half of the room blue for the sky. Then, with a random wavy line going all the way around the room, painted the lower half green for the land.
I added shading to the green to give the hills
depth and intrest and added details like trees and shrubs . Train tracks wind all the way around the room and pass through a tunnel on one side of the room (not shown here). They also lead past a mountain that partially conseals a pirate ship in a secret cove. While Thomas the Train was the primary theme for the room, the first of the Pirates of the Caribbean movie had just been released. A reference to pirates had to be included somewhere in the room.
