This mural was inspired by a wrot iron sculpture secured to the side of a building, spotted while the home owners were on vacation. It was the perfect answer for the large bare wall that dominated the entrance to the home. The tree is ornate without being too busy. The design is both naturalistic and... art deco / classic? It's cool.
The ceilings were 14'. This decorative painting of a tree is probably 12' from top to bottom and 10' in width.
Painted just beyond the front entrance, this mural is on the main focal wall opposite the dining room table.
The trunk of this stylized tree has only one coat of paint and emphasizes the depth of contrasting brush strokes.
The roots and limbs of the tree have 2 coats of paint so they become flat graphic shapes.
