This playroom painting was inspired by the leafy grandeur of the botanicals in Henri Rousseau jungle paintings. It would have been fun to push Rousseau's style but time did not permit it. Layers of flat, stylized foliage in several shades of green set the stage for the wildlife.

Several wild animal accessories had already been collected by the home owner:
LOVE the stuffed leather rhinoceros ottoman.
There's a 3D giraffe character for the wall and a folksy zebra mirror (bottom right). |

A tucan is perched on top of a sign that reads "Welcome to Our Jungle". |

A close-up of the bull elephant trumpeting a welcome from the feature wall. |

Next to the french doors at the entrance to the playroom a chimpanzee waves a welcome to visitors. The little girl (age 4) who lives here was absolutely thrilled at having her own "Curious George". |

Exotic birds add a vivid splash of colour to the room. The scarlet macaw below is opposite the welcome feature. The blue macaw is perched next to the window on an adjacent wall. |
