Introduction
Evelyn Shifflett is a graphic artist residing in Mississauga, Ontario. She has studied at the Alberta Art College of Design and Sheridan College of Animation and Design, graduating in 2003 as a Sheridan Scholar and Silver Medal Recipient in 2003.
Illustration courses exposed her to a variety of techniques while focusing on the fundamentals of design and visual communications. She also gained hands on experience in print making, paper crafts and textile arts. At Sheridan College a lot of emphasis was put on computer arts as a means of self promotion. Evelyn learned the basics of Photoshop, Illustrator and Dreamweaver.
Since then she has learned a lot more about designing for the web on her own. After graduation Evelyn started her own company, RhinoInk Illustrations Ltd., through which she provides a wide range of creative services including:
• Book illustration
• Mural painting
• Sidewalk and window painting
• Corporate design
• Web design and maintenance
Evelyn has an adventurous spirit and loves a creative challenge. When a client asks “Can you do this?” the answer is always “Yes.”, even if it means having to do a little research to figure out how. She often works with promotional companies to provide more complete service for their clients.

Programming
While I do a lot of programming, I’m not trained as a programmer. Dreamweaver makes creating websites easy. Over the years I’ve taught myself to read, understand and edit CSS, PHP and JAVA script.
Many of the websites I’ve designed are created from scratch in Photoshop. Images can be sliced up and turn it into table based websites. Layout can also be defined with style sheets.
I’ve had success customizing YouTube and Twitter backgrounds, setting up joomla and zencart websites, creating Fan / Business pages in Facebook and skins for Blogger and Wordpress.
My specialty is design - customizing layouts, buttons, banners, icons... Real programmers have a gift. I truly enjoy working in partnership with them, creating online experiences that are visually pleasing and functional.
