![]() Red Riding Hood Confieds in Grandma This illustration was inspired by Illustration Friday's prompt pretend. "Grandma, sometimes I feel like I'm pretending to be something I'm not. Do you ever feel like that?" |
Smiling Fish This one was just for fun - for the sake of playing with crayons. The soft rounded line qualities of this fish give it a gentle, friendly character. ![]() |

![]() The colouration in these 3 images is intentional. My goal was to really exagerrate the hues that I was picking out from the photgraphic reference I was using. Lioness - (left top) This is one of the original drawings from the Lioness Experiment. The same cat was rendered with 4 diffenent mediums / styles then treated in Photoshop either on their own or combined to get a range of looks. Koala Hugs - (above) Mother koala bear piggy-backing her baby through the eukaliptus canopy somewhere in Austratia. Meerkats - (left bottom) A prairie dog-like critter of the African savannah. They're fun to watch. They are very serious about their activities but so cute it make them look funny. |
| Rat, Bees and Eagle This set should really fall under the heading of "mixed media". First I divided a sheet of watercolour paper into uniform sections with tape, then quickly splashed on random strokes of watercolour all over. I used a frustratingly, scratchy, skipping, ultra-fine ballpoint pen to doodle the animals over the wash (can't throw anything out). The critters were then tinted with coloured pencils. The cold press watercolour paper created an interesting texture. |
