Sidewalk promotions are
often used in conjunction with
several other mediums to get
a message out there:
posters,
billboards, vehical wraps,
media events...

Quotes are supplied per contract requirements. Factors that contribute to determining the quote are: Complexity of the Design: How long it will take to complete a spot from
start to finish. Size of Artwork: 1 foot square is 1 foot... 2 feet square is 4 feet...
3 feet square is 9 feet... you see where I'm going with this. Adding a few inches
here and there does make a difference. Number of Locations: Showing up to do one spot is nice. Doing 5 spots in the same day is more efficient. Travel Time: 5 spots in a square 1km area takes less time than 5 spots
spaced 10km apart Maintenance: By it's nature, sidewalk art wares quickly. Maintenance
generally involves more than just a little touch up here and there - it usually
means re-doing the whole spot. The fresh pigments do not match the faded and
trampled art. It does go a little quicker than the first time it is layed down
as the original design serves as a guide. I've also had to compensate for spilled
food and drink, gum and smooshed cigarette butts, bird poop and occasionally
some additional spray paint or marker.

2006 Inspired by Julian
Beever, I attempted to create 3D sidewalk art. The images
are elongated and skewed so
that from a particular vantage
point they appear to stand
up from the ground's surface.
I wasn't quite successful,
but it was fun trying. Appearently
the illusion only works when
the skew is stretched over
many yards or entire blocks,
not feet.
